MIRINDA Ooh La La, the music hangama with a differ ence, created ripples in the city recently with professionals to amateurs participating and trying to win over A R Rahman's compliments.
Zinx, the band, went to the finals with a wild cart entry which won them a trip to A R Rahman's studio.
‘‘I will recognise talent anywhere,'' said A R Rahman and true to his words, the finalists were not the only ones who won.
Many bands were awarded the opportunity to gloat over A R Rahman's words of praise. Srishti, Oxygen, Agam, V3, Zinx and Madras Tunes are the bands who eagerly await to enter the portals of a different world.
‘‘ARR is my demi god and to have won his appreciation is more than a dream come true. We never thought we will win, because we didn't make it ‘ to the finals, but we won,'' said members of Madras Tunes.
‘‘Music took the centrestage and it was a fun-filled opportunity with contacts and experiences to last a life time,'' said a member of Oxygen.
‘‘We are going to make an album with A R Rahman in his studio. Sa re Ga Me is going to release it. Things could never be looking better,''chorused the excited musicians.
‘‘With the able guidance of the grooming section, amateur bands like us were able to perform better,'' said members of V3. Even as excitement filled the air, all the singers hoped they would raise to the expectations of maestro A R Rahman.
